About Me

My experience with massage began back in 2004 after I injured my left knee skiing. It turned out to be just a partially torn tendon so I did not have to undergo surgery. After I was back on my feet walking again I saw a skilled massage therapist to help with my knee. After only two visits the range of motion improved and the pain was almost non existent. A year later I enrolled in the massage therapy course at Ashmead College. Massage therapy appealed to me in many ways.  The most prominent aspect was to help people reduce their pain level so they can live a happier life and relate to their surroundings with more gentleness. I'm sure everone has experienced pain that leaves them with little patience. And knowing that 80% of diseases can be linked to stress, masasge therapy appealed to me even more.

After graduating in 2006 I worked for Kaliedoscope Massage Therapy in Shelton Washington.  In late 2007 I began working at Cascade Chiropractic in Olympia Washington as a full time massage therapist.  The clinic gave me a plethora of opportunities to work with auto and work related injuries as well as the common modern issues with desk and computer work. I currently have my own practice that started in the beggining of 2017.

My basic education in based in Swedish massage techniques.  There is a lot of variety and options based in the Swedish massage tradition ranging from sports massage, pregnancy massage, trigger point release and stretching called Swedish gymnastics to name just a few.  I have furthered my education to include Lomi Lomi, hot stone, medical massage and massage cupping. I find all modalities add to create a better understanding of how to care for the human body and elicit its own healing process.

Combining techniques together, my style is a blend of gliding movements with extra pause in areas of tense tissue. My pace is generally slow, allowing the muscle and connective tissue time to release and balance. The focus in on releasing soft tissue to better support the skeletal system in holding good alignment. When bones become miss aligned due to tight muscles and fascia pulling, the body has to expend more energy to just maintain normal function. I can work with your preference of pressure as some like more deep tissue massage than others. Communication in very important.Â
